He’s Cobbler is the easiest cobbler you will probably ever make and it can be made with peaches or blackberries. =) It has been passed down in my family and was, apparently, quite popular during The Great Depression. This is my hubbys favorite cobbler of all time. Maybe it will be yours too!
Heat the oven to 375. Place 1/2 cup of butter in a 13x9 pan and place the pan in the oven to melt. Once melted, remove the butter and lower the temperature to 350.
Mix in a bowl:
1 Cup flour
1 Cup Sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 c Milk
Pour Batter over melted butter but DO NOT STIR!
Heat 1 large can (or two 15 oz cans) peaches with juice or 2 cups blackberries. Pour hot fruit over the batter. DO NOT STIR!
Bake for about 30 minutes at 350 until the batter creeps to the top of the fruit and forms a light brown crust.
Serve with Vanilla ice cream or cool whip!
